12.05.23 Abstract painting workshop (3 hours)

  • Gina's home studio Hallatrow Road Bristol, England, BS39 United Kingdom (map)

£65

You will learn how to create abstract paintings in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All materials are provided and no experience is needed

My 3 hour workshop will involve practical sessions which will support you in creating 6 abstract paintings and a small canvas. We will focus on creating these in an intuitive way using texture and mark making whilst finding out which colours you are drawn to. We will use brushes and palette knives with acrylic paint, and we will try using paint directly from the tube as well as paint mixed with water. We will also try using a medium added to the paint to add yet more texture! These techniques are the ones I use to create my own art and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. We will do this in my home studio whilst listening to relaxing, calming music which makes the perfect environment for you to relax and enjoy being creative.

My workshops are currently for a maximum of 2 people, so you almost get 121 tuition. Why not bring a friend or family member and share the experience? Alternatively, if you come alone, you will get to meet another likeminded person and I always love how well everyone gets along.

You don't need any experience, in fact most people come who haven't painted since school or for a very long time. My painting workshop will give you an opportunity to try a new skill or a new way of painting and help you find your creative happy place, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

This workshop takes place in my home studio and is 3 hours. I’ll give you the support you need to create something you’ll be proud to take home. I always make time for a break and a natter and I include refreshments and cake, which is usually my lemon drizzle cake.

  • No previous painting experience needed - even if you haven’t painted since school

  • All materials provided

  • An apron will be provided but please wear older clothes in case of splashes!
