Would you like to experience learning and creating with your child (or children) in relaxed and friendly atmosphere?
This is a 2 hour abstract painting workshop in the February school holiday for a parent and child (children) to experience creating art together.
I knew from my experience of running an art after school clubs and adult workshops that my processes work for both adults and children so I decided it would be great idea to combine the two.
. This is a wonderful experience for both children and parent to fully immerse themselves in learning a new skill and a skill then do again at home together. One ticket will permit one adult and up to 2 children.
My workshop will be relaxed and friendly and I'll walk you through practical steps in abstract painting. You will each create 6 intuitive abstract paintings each to take home. You will learn how to create texture and use mark making and find out which colours you are drawn to. We will use brushes and palette knives with acrylic paint, and we will try using paint directly from the tube as well as paint mixed with water. These techniques are the ones I use to create my own art and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
You don't need any experience, everyone is welcome. This painting workshop will give you an opportunity to try a something new together, enjoy a lovely bonding experience and learn new skills that you try again and again at home together.
Children must be accompanied by their adult who will take part in the workshop. Children should be 6 or over.
